Daniyah Guitar Duo

Alice Brandão & Maja Kralj

Between the classical tradition and the music of South America.

01 Biography

Two guitars, one artistic voice

The Daniyah Guitar Duo was founded in 2022 by Alice Brandão and Maja Kralj at the Haute École de Musique de Genève, where both studied in the class of Judicaël Perroy. The duo has quickly established itself as a promising ensemble on the international stage.

Prizewinners at several prestigious competitions — including Second Prize at the Guitar Foundation of America International Ensemble Competition in 2025 — they captivate audiences with their musical synergy, precision and the richness of their interpretations.

Their repertoire, at the crossroads of classical tradition and contemporary influences, has led them to perform at renowned festivals and concert halls across Europe and South America. Deeply engaged in musical creation, they collaborate with composers such as Sergio Assad and Florian Colombet, while also creating their own arrangements, contributing to the expansion of the guitar duo repertoire.

A particularly strong connection links the duo to South American music, which forms a central thread of their artistic identity — a sound world that has accompanied them since the beginning of their collaboration.
